Great news! ESTEEM has been awarded the grant for their Adur & Worthing Youth COAST project (Creating Opportunities, Activities, Support & Training).
Over the next four years the project will deliver volunteering opportunities, mentoring from experienced adults, community based projects, events, confidence building and well-being activities.
The Reaching Communities grant provides funding between £10,000-£500,000 for voluntary or community groups. The grant is extremely competitive with fewer than 1 in 10 proposals succeeding. Local charity Adur Voluntary Action greatly supported ESTEEM in the bid as their partner organisation. ESTEEM are looking forward to continuing to work with AVA and many other community organisations.
ESTEEM runs weekly youth Drop-Ins on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8pm at The Old School House on Ham Road, with the latter currently in conjunction with local arts charity Company Paradiso. ESTEEM also provides training courses including first aid, cookery and food hygiene, as well as sign posting to other community opportunities.
Cat Vizor, Chief Officer, says “It’s an awesome feeling that our hard work and volunteering over the last 8 years, from our team of adults and young people, has received national recognition. We’re proud to invite local businesses, residents and young people to get on board as we begin this exciting new chapter.”
